Theory Event Release: Artcrime No. 1, Saturday 6/30 at Antique, Free!

Hey Everybody,
Last month we blew the doors off Antique with some of the hottest music, coolest art and sexiest people the East Village has ever hosted. The nice people who run the place liked it so much that they invited the Theory Crew back to mash it up again. Join us again this month as we return, champion style, with some new friends and familiar faces all ready to bring you an unforgettable night of Artcrime...
Here's the details:
When: Saturday, June 30, 9pm-4am
How Much: Free to the 21+ public
Where: Antique at China 1
Downstairs at 50 Avenue B (Between 3rd and 4th Streets) ( Map)
Antique is breathtaking; great decor, friendly staff and awesome audiovisual technology. Picture this: a chill and lovely Pan-Asian restaurant/lounge on street level with sinfully opulent party rooms below, all on one of the coolest blocks in the East Village. Come check out the space that Zagat's calls "The East Village's answer to Spice Market" while Theory mashes it up over two floors of sexy mayhem. Also, after some light criticism of the drink prices last time, we've arranged for awesome drink specials to be available all night. Theory loves you any which way, but we're cuter when you've had a few drinks...
What: The Galleryless Gallery
Among the many other wonderful things at Antique, the DJ and chill out rooms are equipped with two new hi-def digital projectors. While the multi-talented Voidstar Runner returns with the fractal madness along with the music on one screen, we'll be using the other to host another installment of The Galleryless Gallery. Last month's show was nothing short of spectacular, and we're still accepting submissions until Wednesday for this one, details available upon request.
Who: Your Host, Professor Meat
Prof. Meat jumped on the mic for a minute at Outrageous Fortune, and we liked his style so much that we asked him back to host Artcrime. A man of many hustles, Prof. Meat has rocked mics from here to Oregon and back, published some of the most disturbing horror short stories available today in major anthologies, shown experimental art at hot underground galleries and charmed the hell out of the entire Theory crew with his on and off stage shenanigans. At Artcrime, he'll be devoting all of his considerable energies to making sure that you all have a great time. And a bit on the musicians…
Who: It's Overture
Mashup DJ duo It's Overture will be with us in full effect for upstairs and downstairs sets, bringing more of their custom blends to keep the crowd moving all night. After debuting the first ever Grateful Dead/Tribe Called Quest mashup last month, they've been hard at work in the lab pressing some of the hottest new tracks that I've ever heard for this one. It's Overture will be mixing 80's, hip-hop, techno, funk and the kitchen sink.
Who: 100 dBs
100dBs is still riding high on the critical buzz for Brenner's Breaks Volume 1, and we're lucky to get him out of the studio where he's been putting the finishing touches on "The Adventures of the One-Hand Bandit and Slum Computer Wizard," the new album from him ans Ryan O'Neil dropping later this summer. If you missed his 5 hour marathon solo set at Antique a few weeks ago, you owe it to yourself to see him on Saturday. 100 dBs mixes hip-hop, funk, reggae and dancehall.
Who: Ryan O'Neil
Ryan O'Neil, the One Hand Bandit of Queens, is a man of many words and lots of action. As we've slid into Summer, Ryan's been recording some ridiculously hot new tracks with 100 dBs for his debut album, "The Adventures of the One-Hand Bandit and Slum Computer Wizard," dropping this August. Saturday night Ryan will light up the mic upstairs and downstairs, backed with beats by 100 dBs and surprise guest vocalists...
Who: Douggie Style
Theory is ecstatic to welcome NY underground legend Douggie Style to Antique for upstairs and downstairs sets at Artcrime. Douggie's been bringing all kinds of Style to the notorious Chemistry parties for some time now, as well as a number of other excellent and sexy venues. When we asked what kind of music he'd be spinning for us on Saturday, he simply replied "whatever it takes." Awesome.
Who: OutputMessage
OutputMessage will be returning from DC to grace the Theory Crew with two more of his outstanding genre-bending sets. Last month he captivated an early crowd with his distinctive style of studio-distorted hip-hop, pop electronic and soul that 100 dBs calls "Crack Pop." Come check the method!
Who: Mr. Torch
I'm caught Mr. Torch for the first time at the Summers' Lounge on the LES last weekend, and his technically flawless and tastefully spot-on mixing blew my mind. He'll be joining us for his first Theory show, but hopefully not his last, taking the brave 9pm opening spot to start the evening off right before running out to spin another show the same night. Mr. Torch spins hip-hop, and all sorts of Caribbean, Jamaican and West Indian music. You need to see this!
All that plus sexy surprises and the hottest merch volunteers in NYC; Artcrime is setting the new gold standard for East Village nightlife. Be a part of it, Saturday June 30th!
Cheers,
Theory
(Sam)
P.S. If you're in the area before doors open this Saturday and you're looking for a place to eat or chill, China 1 on street level has great food with good prices, plus live jazz from a great ensemble. They have all of these things every Friday, Saturday and Sunday night now, and the great food and good prices over the rest of the week too. Check them out!
Unsubscribe Info: If you feel that you have received this message in error, would not like to receive further Theory updates or are in fact allergic to fun, just reply with an "unsubscribe" in the subject line and we'll take you off our list, no hard feelings.
If you want to pass this along, pass it along, but don't harass people with it- thanks!
